Trying to get around town this time of year is murder.

And I think that might be the best play on words I've used in the last few months, given the calls my consulting detective flatmate has been getting lately. Tis the season, apparently. At least everything else seems to be working itself out.

I've still got to get Harry something for Christmas. It would be rude if I didn't, really. And... I wonder if you're even supposed to get people like Sherlock presents. He'd probably find it superfluous, so it really wouldn't be worth trying. And dealing with shopping at this time of year? Even online sites have embedded Christmas music, it seems. It's not really worth all the hassle.

Still, I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

You never know, with the way you describe him. Maybe he'll be expecting something just because it's the thing to do, and be surprised if you didn't. Although I don't know if you should be expecting anything back. He doesn't really seem the type, from what I hear.

Ah, yes. Well. He isn't the type, not really. But I almost suspect he's not entirely aware that it's... well, Christmas at all.

...not aware that it's Christmas? ...he does live in London, does he not? From what I recall, everywhere you go in London, you're assaulted with Christmas and "Holiday Spirit" in some way or another.

Yes, he does, and yes, dear Lord, you do. But sometimes Sherlock can forget about the little things, like... well, holidays.

...They're not important to the grand scheme of things. And yes, I realize how daft that sounds. I'm not even sure he knows whether or not the world is round.

Oh, for the love of... "Not important in the grand scheme of things"? Maybe if you live in a cave, or on top of a mountain, or something. This is London that we're talking about, though. Does he realize how ridiculous that sounds?

Believe me, Ianto, you're preaching to the choir. I haven't exactly broached the subject of Christmas yet, though, despite the fact that they've been playing the music since November. It seems like one of those things he would think I was being an idiot about, no matter what i say.

Maybe find a way to bring it up casually, and see what he says about it? If he's not going to see straight through something like that, that is.
